a collection of reflections by people i have known

by andru

whoa. i got about four hours til i leave for dublin. madrid has done me right, though i didn?t have any doubts. and i got to see friends, despite most people being gone on vacation right now. i bought a necklace this morning at the rastro, the first to be worn in two years! crazy ass.

last night me and ana went to see king arthur in english(she had subtitles in spanish), and it was much better than when watched in french. although i still don?t like how they changed pieces of the history — i don?t understand how making the ?knights? come from sarmatia would add to box office sales, especially since chretien de troyes is the one who added the whole knight-in-shining-armor idea in the first place. the older versions have arthur and his best fighting companions, who of course are fellow celtic britons. but anyhow. we met up with her parents and went to a couple irish bars afterwards then came home for dinner, to be followed by a group watching of willow. i can?t believe ana?s parents love willow as much as she and i do. why aren?t my parents more nerdy like that?? hehe.

so, after having introduced ana to jungle and left her with a ton of mp3?s, as well as her giving me a ton of industrial and goth stuff, i?m off to ireland. i have nothing planned besides a loose idea of the progression of cities and towns i will visit, so i hope it all goes well without me having to be organized enough to reserve train/bus tickets, as well as lodgings, ahead of time. i?ve got a spot in dublin reserved for two nights since i?ll be arriving around eleven tonight, and that feat of thinking ahead has astounded me in and of itself. hopefully i?ll come back loaded down with music, books, pictures, and some sheet music, as well as a new perspective on myself and my roots. scotland will have to wait until next time.

peace
