all is well in cork city. i'm about to head over to a pub down the street that'll be having a session of traditional music in another half hour or so. sitting and listening to a few guys and girls playing right in front of you while enjoying pints of guinness(or murphy's, here in cork) is a wonderful thing.

so for the several friends who let me know they could get me at the airport, i've got my ticket now. i'll be flying into washington bwi on monday, september sixth. i'll be getting in at 5:55pm, but i'll prolly get stopped in customs for at least a half hour, seeing as i've spent most of the last two years in morocco. anyhow, if this time works, please let me know. worse comes to worst i'll just catch a cab or some shit and show up at one of your apartment's, expecting beer and entertainment.

i'm gonna take a day trip tomorrow to clonmel to see a big traditional music festival going on there. it's hosting the all-ireland trad competitions for up and coming kids and such, so it should be massive. what was originally only going to be a couple days in cork has turned into four, perhaps more. this city is great.

i caught a play two nights ago at the cork opera house, called 'the gigli concert'. it was hilarious. regardless, my seat was next to three old people, and the woman next to me began asking me all kinds of questions. turns out she knows a whole bunch of breens in the county, and said i could go to some town outside of cork to ask around if i wanted. i figure i'll just keep going to trad sessions and drinking. i do other interesting things during the day of course, besides drinking. today, for example, i kissed the blarney stone. i was wondering whether or not it would be a good idea, since i already have amazing levels of eloquence(perhaps from my parents, who kissed it together before i was born). i might be able to join x-force now, with my powers of spouting off wonderful strings of beautiful nonsense.
