hibernian farewell

it's my last full day in ireland. galway is the place now. i'm glad that i've hooked up with enda and sinead here, since there's so many tourists. if there was anything i wanted to do while i was here, it was to get under the skin of the place and not drift along the surface with all the other millions here seeing the sights. my extra stay in cork did that for me, and part of the circle of friends and acquintances i started there have led me to other friends here in galway.
i was going to go to the aran islands today but there's a lot of mist and fog out; visibility is very low, and from the recommendation of friends i'm not gonna make the trek. as long as aer lingus stays in business i can come back here many times more in the future. today i'm gonna look at book shops and music stores, my vice here, and try and catch a showing of an independent irish film about junkies before meeting up with the galway team later this evening.
i wish chrispy and goose would post more often. as well as chaz. he's still in colorado; i hope he drifts back to the east coast sooner rather than later. other than that, i just hope my plane doesn't have to land in the middle of hurricane frances. i should check the weather reports and see if that's gonna happen or not.
peace
