And now, for your reading pleasure, a questionnaire!:
Hair: Naturally dirty blonde. Currently chestnut.
Eyes: Blue.
Occupation: Student, eleven months from finishing my BA in Gender Studies and Literary Arts.
Hobbies/extracurriculars: I'm a member of the Queer Alliance at my school; I used to write zines–primarily one called Heart Versus Brain–but those have fallen by the wayside and gone out of print. These days I write plays and letters. Most recently, I've spent a great deal of time cataloging many, though certainly not all, of my music on my list on recordnerd.
Addictions: MySpace, Law & Order, library books, stationery, drug store hair dye.
Wearing right now: Jeans, a green shirt, a brown corduroy blazer, a scarf, earrings and maryjanes. The same thing I wear pretty much every day lately.
Ashamed of: Less and less.
Proud of: More and more.
Last embarassed by: "Happy Tree Friends" showing up on my last.fm profile's 'weekly top artists' section.
What do you see out the window? The courtyard outside my dorm: mostly-melted snow, grass, and another dorm.
Age: 22.
Porn name you'd use: According to that whole porn name rule (first pet, street where you lived as a child), it'd be Calico Ridgeway. Guh.
Last book you finished: Jeanette Winterson's Weight.
Book(s) you're reading currently: Rereading Foucault's History of Sexuality for class; Billy Childish's Sex Crimes of the Futcher; Judith Lorber's Gender and the Social Construction of Illness; Nelly Richard's Masculine/Feminine; and Jeanette Winterson's Written on the Body.
Favorite picture you took in 2005: One from my brother's wedding & another from my grandfather's memorial service.
Favorite picture (or two) of yourself: This one, from the beginning of this year, and this one, from around Thanksgiving.
Toughest thing you've ever done: Delivering my grandfather's eulogy.
Turning points in your life? The same as anyone: weddings, divorces, funerals, birthdays and graduations.
Music you're hearing: Lots these days. Mostly I'm hooked on Belle & Sebastian's The Life Pursuit, Perceptionists' Black Dialogue, and Rabbit Furcoat by Jenny Lewis & the Watson Twins. Also, anything by Seagull Screaming Kiss Her Kiss Her.
Favorite place: Forest Park.
I can't prove it, but… I think my dog is holding a grudge against me. When I call for him, he looks at me, looks at the doorway, looks back at me, then turns around and walks the other way. Good times.
George W. Bush must be… one hateful m-f-er.
I can't stand it when… people make jokes about the differences between men and women, because men like to leave the toilet seat up, and women hate it! HA! (Mr. Mom and Three Men and a Baby also fit in this camp.)
I love it when… I get letters.
Your best post thus far: They're all more or less the same. I do rather like this one. It's still one of my favorite days.
Favorite posts from others: I really, really like the posts that happened surrounding Virginia's proposed license plate in support of "traditional marriage." Bitzao's wonderful world of 'homosexual gangs in Richmond' takes the cake.
