jack told me that he ranked me number one for the printmaking PA. although i have no idea what fran's decision will be, it was good to know that jack thinks so highly of me. he said that i had the broadest knowledge of any of the other applicants. he also told me that part of the job would entail helping teach the beginning litho class, which is good because it will get me teaching experience. also, i like the idea of not having to work in the dps again.

art chicago was yesterday. disappointing and exhausting. there is just too much to see in one day, and a lot of it was bad. the best thing was a mouse that made "drawings." there was a mouse in a cage, and there was a sensor hooked up to a computer that monitored her every movement. these movements were translated to a computer progarm that generated images. somtimes black lines, some times colored shapes, and they would appear and be layerd over one another, and whenever the gallery wanted they would print one out, and start over. it was cool. the funny thing is one of the "drawings" looked identitcal to the work of benjamin edwards, who was a visiting artist at tandem this semester. the tandem booth looked great there. hopefully we sold a lot.

maine and new york in a couple of days. i can't wait.
