i haven't really posted in awhile, and i guess i am long overdue. i spent five days in maine, which was the perfect amount of time. i did all the things i wanted to do, saw the people i wanted to see, and a couple of those i wasn't expecting to, caught up on sleep, and didn't spend nearly as much money as i had budgeted for myself. i spoke to a handful of gallery directors while i was there, and one gallery told me to definitely send him slides, and i will. i will probably send out slides to a couple of others as well. i saw some cool stuff, nothing to great, but i also realize that many of these places had there summer tourist attraction shows up, which generally doesn't produce the best work. what i did see that i thought was great was the william pope.l show at the ica. very good and very ambitious. one of the more interesting shows and artists they've shown. fun fact about pope.l is that he is on the short list of artists to have his nea funding revoked.
i thought i had other things to talk about, but i guess i don't. jason is now gone, so is martin. this sucks. we had a little going away party for jason at the silver dollar. it was fun. i got really drunk, and ordered pokey stix when i got home. bad idea. no matter how many times i end up feeling like shit after ordering pokey stix late at night all drunk, i never learn. i also finished the motley crue autobiography which was pretty good. except that the end was mostly tommy lee, and his sections were exceptionally painful to read. written like how a drunken 14 year old speaks. honest. every other word is "fucking" ,"dude", "man", or "bro". the book is definitely worth your time. it made me want them to put out a new album.
