i think i used that title a couple weeks ago for something but i now forget what the post was about. it’s a line from a song that i also now forget.

i am posting from the computer that currently houses tripp’s thesis project at USC. there are two modules set up for users to peruse his work, specifically iam, and a manequin head is currently recording what i am doing and projecting it on another wall. the thesis presentations for the parents were tonight. they were great. it was so exciting to see everyone talk about these projects that had consumed their lives and came to fruition this may. it’s just nice to hear people in another school talk about how they are passionate about their work.

i have to say that i am very proud of tripp for so much of what he has done this year, and moreso what he has accomplished since being in california. he has adapted to a new city, made friends and business contacts, kept in touch with old friends, had several life-altering surgeries, maintained a long-distance relationship with a great girl, and learned so much about himself and the work he creates. sometimes, it is great to be a little sister and have something to look up to.

in about ten minutes, the millicans and the macdonalds (plus rachael, becky, and charlie, who make up the extended family) will depart to a little italian restaurant in hollywood for a congratulations dinner. it’s good times here. ive had sushi two days in a row which really makes my day and im enjoying the sunshine and the company. im so thankful to have a family. and even more thankful to have one i love dearly.
