down with the sickness

Last weekend I headed into Philly on Friday night to hang out with Jason, Justin, and Panos before we all

went to Laura and Rob's wedding on Saturday afternooon. The timing was less than ideal. I'd only been home

from England for two days and I was sick as a dog, but everyone was going to the wedding and a month ago I'd

talked Panos into flying in a day early to go drinking in Philly and I couldn't very well bail so I sucked it

up and partied like a soldier.

We had a blast as usual, but the end results were nothing if not predictable. The headcold - hangover

combination was brutal, but again it wasn't something I could really miss. Laura was always a part of my

colleg clique and she started dating Rob during senior year. As a couple, they work. They were my odds on

favorites to be the first ones out of our crowd to get married after college, missing the mark only when

Rolla got married after a whirlwind romance.

Again I decided to just suck it up and party. It was a good strategy as a good time was had by all. The

wedding itself was short and classy (the best possible combination in imho) and the reception was just great.

Their was a veritable army of William and Mary kids there and everyone from my clique except Anne Boyle who

is working for the Peace Corp and living in one of the old Soviet Union provinces that you can never remember

the name of. So we all got drunk (with the exception of Rolla whose pregnant) and just had a good time.

Nathan and Jill struck a truce clearing up the St. Patties Day fireworks. Amazing weekend, if somewhat painfull. Laura and

Rob: All the best to you kids.

I did pretty much nothing this weekend for the first time in a month, bailing on Jason's birthday. It

would have been nice to go, but I needed some time at home. My cold is finally fading away after hanging on

stubbornly for about a week and it felt good to just hang out and vege for the past two days.

This isn't to say I've been entirely unproductive, I fixed up a futon that I garbage picked this weekend

and moved it into the basement. It's comfy and in decent shape, a welcome change from the hard piece of crap

that I'd been using and small enough to fit into the basement unlike my last fiasco.

I ripped through about half of The Corrections. I'm really enjoying it and

wondering yet again why I don't read as much as I used to. I used to read constantly, as in non stop, as in

late into the night, and then again when I woke up in the morning. I devoured books. Now I can't even work

up a respectable list of recent favorites for a friendster profile. So if you've got some book

reccomendations bang em out because I need to read more.

And about friendster…I created a profile this weekend…if you're on their add me as a friend please, I

look like a loser.
