Hot off the presses is this news item about a group of Colorado High School students who have locked themselves in a library to protest the nation's direction and demand an audience with Republican leaders.

You've got to hand it to these kids, they've got spirit, but can anyone think of a place less likely to get visited by Republican leaders than a library?

I had a brainstorm yesterday: The DNC should sell black bracelets in the same basic style as the Lance Armstrong "Live Strong" bracelets. People would buy and wear them to symbolize their grief for the crumbling stature of our nation. The bracelet should read "Live Scared" and the profits kick into a fund to defeat whatever right-wing idealogue the Republicans trot out in 2008 (Thank God for term limits). My guess is that there are a good 4 or 5 million people out there who would wear the things every day until this bigoted redneck is back in Texas for good.
