Want to offer a quick belated tribute to the late Russell Jones aka Rusty aka Ol' Dirty Bastard aka Dirty aka ODB aka O Sirus aka Big Baby Jesus aka Dirt McGirt. He should be remembered if not for his talent then for the simple fact that when you come from a crew as wacked out and crazy as the Wu-Tang Clan it's no small accomplishment to be known as the weird one. As the Wu noted on 36 Chambers there truly was no father to his style.

Feeling like a bum for letting so much time pass betweeen posts, but there's really not a whole lot happening. After a frantic begining to autumn things have finally settled down and I'm not racing up and down the east coast and going to weddings every weekend. I'm kind of just back in my daily grind trying to figure out what comes next in life.

On the stupid bullshit front: I'm podded up again with a brand new shiny 40 gig iPod HP that arrived in the mail yesterday. It's fairly amazing how Apple has continued to improve these things with each successive generation. I had considered the 60 gig iPod photo, but ultimately decided it was too much money for an extra 20 gigs I didn't need and photo functionality I wouldn't use. Maybe the money I saved there can be applied towards a much needed headphone upgrade, I still have my old over-ear monsters that I used for DJing, but they'd look kind of silly on the subway. So I'm going in the other direction and looking just at the tiny in-ear noise isolating phones, leaning towards the new Sony EX-81, but also considering the Shure E2c, and dreaming hopelessly of the Etymonic ER-4S. It's such an impossible item to shop for because sound quality and comfort are both so highly subjective and you really can't test these thing out before you buy so your left taking a plunge on a total unknown.

Also: How come no one told me there's a new Massive Attack album out? Can't I rely upon you people for anything?
