(the day after the day after) tomorrow

I know I said that I would have this up a couple of days ago, but once again I have failed. I was all set to recount the events of the past month, with all of the bad luck attached to it, when I ran into a few more problems that needed to be taken care of. So here is, in reverse order*, everything that made me not want to post for a month.

Pt. 1

I am extremely annoyed at not having a car. It sucks that it's in the shop and won't be ready for at least three or four more days, and that's a generous estimate. The height of inconvenience is having to close a resaraunt, get off around two or three in the morning, and have to bum a ride from people that work for you because you don't have a car and your pregnant wife has to be at her job early the next day. The whole situation is extremely irritating, especially after the events of the past month.

Pt. 2

I'm so glad April is finally over. I have somehow convinced myself that all of the recent bad luck has all been concentrated into April and it has finally passed me by. With every day that goes by without incedent, I am becoming more and more assured of the fact that the worst is behind me. Plus, for the first time in almost three weeks, Melissa and I are actually off on the same day. Amazing. We are on our way to register for the baby shower, and I am finally able to relax, confident that nothing else could possibly go wr- what the hell did I just run over? Why is the oil light suddenly on? What was that, it looked like someone's exhaust and tailpipe lying in the middle of the road. I don't know much about cars, but I'm pretty sure that mine shouldn't sound like this**. So back to the apartment, car gets towed, etc. etc. Maybe the streak isn't over yet. I am extremely annoyed at not having a car.

*Yes, I did just watch Memento again, why do you ask?

**It looks like a leak in the oil pan. I am not, after all, completely automatively inept, I just don't think talking about cars in detail is very interesting.
