Jengo Fett* eats at Chic-Fila (not III)

As anyone who reads posts from Mike and Tripp surely knows, we tend to get a little nerdy about certain things, Star Wars being one of them. The disappointment of ep. 1 hasn't prevented us from deciding to see ep. 2 on opening day. I dropped by the movie theater this afternoon to get the tickets so I wouldn't be pressed for time tomorrow, and because I was in the neighborhood. What I saw was a sight that was not really surprising at all, but still something you don't expect to see. At 4:00, eight hours before the midnight showing, there was no less than 7 radio stations and one tv station present with countless people dressed up as charaters from all five movies to help celebrate the opening.
And nobody there, public wise, to see it.
I'm sure it was just a matter of time, but it was just weird to see all these Star Wars characters milling around, sworn enimies hanging out, just looking bored and waiting for something to do.
In typical local tv news style, I did get to see the cameraman and anchorperson from channel six arguing with the manager of the theater because Star Wars wasn't on the billboard yet, and they wanted shots for the 6 o'clock news. The fact that the movie isn't actually showing today, no matter how calmly the manager explained it, didn't seem to satisfy them.
The best thing I saw today:
Boba Fett's Dad walking back from the mall in full uniform, including helmet, Chic-Fila cup in hand, trying not to get in the way of channel six interveiwing one of the sand people. At least Tripp, Mike and I have our limits.
* I just realized that I'm not sure how to spell Jengo Fett, but I'm sure that Tripp, having read many of the books, will correct me if I'm wrong. I also realized that I'm not sure how to spell Chic-Fila either, but I don't think I know any experts in that departmnent, so I'm probably safe.
