I've been a busy boy. I've worked for several different clients over the past month and a half, both in Northern California and near LA. I went to my first live boxing match (which was surprising enjoyable), visited my sister in Seattle, had a great volleyball BBQ for Memorial Day, and I am now getting ready to go to North Carolina soon for a friend's wedding.

It's very weird. This will be the second time that I'll be a groomsman for a wedding taking place in North Carolina. I can't wait to be back in the land of the Waffle House.

Other than that, I've been keeping a low profile. The combination of lots of work and not enough hours to do it has left me and Christina pretty tired on the weekends, so we haven't been going out as much as we should. This weekend is going to change that. I'm going balls to the wall. It's about time I went back to my favorite LA haunts.

I've been listening to a lot of what I call "Midlife Crisis Pop" lately. Bands like Guided by Voices, Magnetic Fields, and Stephen Malkmus' solo work. Maybe this has something with my low-key ways.

Non sequitur: I just finished watching the first season of The Adventures of Pete and Pete from Netflix. I nearly forgot what an awesome show that was. When I now re-watch old shows from my youth *cough*savedbythebell*cough* I realize just how terrible these shows were, and then I watch Pete and Pete and remember that not all were bad. The DVD, besides being a really terrible transfer, is so unbelievably funny, with one of the greatest theme songs of any show. Ever. And to make things even better, most of the music composed for the show was done by Magnetic Fields. I can't wait for seasons two and three to come out.

Oh, and why hasn't anyone been talking about the new set of Directors Label stuff that's coming out in September? Four directors this time, three who are amazing (Jonathan Glazer, Anton Corbijn, and St?phane Sednaoui) and one who is overrated (Mark Romanek). I hope they do what they did last time at the Sunset 5 in Hollywood, where they showed a ton of Spike, Michel and Chris' videos on the big screen followed by a two hour Q&A. I'm a little surprised about who was picked for this set, but I'm still excited enough to pre-order all four set. I'm going to go on record now and predict that David Fincher and Jonas ?kerlund will be part of the third set. Anyways.
