My whole life was like a picture of a sunny day

I realized a couple days ago that I hung out with the vast majority of my close friends for the first time in years, and it all happened in roughly a weeks time.

The first event was my 4th of July BBQ at my apartment that ended up as an impromptu poker game. I then made my way up to Northern California and saw my best friend Ryan before hopping a plain to North Carolina to be a groomsman for one of my best friend's wedding. While in North Carolina I ended up visiting yet another one of my best friends who lives in Charlotte. Most of these people I hadn't seen in a least two years, and some as long as five years.

I kind of consider it a blessing that I'm able to stay friends who I don't get to see very often. I can't explain how great it was to catch up with these guys. It's odd how grown up we all are, and yet how much further we still need to go. Most of these guys are just finishing up with school, entering the military, figuring out what the hell to do with their lives. I guess I still am too a little bit. The transition isn't as scary when everyone else

We all swore at the end of the wedding reception to try and stay in better contact, and it's a good thought, but we'll see. In a few years it'll be our ten year reunion. Scary, but nice to know we'll be together again, complaining that we should talk more.
