i've lost all sense of ownership in this space.

today is the equinox. something i realized in a moment of absurd coincidence: i looked up the definition this afternoon because i had just seen the word used in a product name. not knowing the exact meaning, i thought i'd check the dictionary on my computer and this is what it said: "the time or date (twice each year) at which the sun crosses the celestial equator, when day and night are of equal length (about September 22 and March 20)." of course the date struck me as oddly familiar… so i checked the calendar and found that it was today. now the equinox can vary, so i double-checked on wikipedia and verified that the equinox is indeed march 20 this year. so strange… life is full of coincidence. i'm not sure what it means to me yet. patterns aren't explanations, just observations. i have a strong sense of deja vu that hits me a few times a year… but i don't know what that means either.
