i first saw this animation at SIGGRAPH in 2003 and it has eluded me since. the visualization of dna replication in the second half creates such deep awe in me. sleuthed it up today and discovered it (mislabeled of course) on youtube:
the search was sparked by my girlfriend sending me this 1970s video of students simulating protein synthesis. it's 13 minutes long but it's worth it:
