Rage Against the Machine

That's my title for this post (Kady)…Matt's post is below:
Here we are sitting off the coast of Sumatra. We've been loading hundreds upon hundreds of pallets of food and water onto every available vehicle for transport to the island. It seems like we should be here for the duration of the disaster relief.
However, I have heard that we will be moving on towards the gulf within the next week.
For the time being, I've been transferred out of my shop for some temporary guard duty within the ship. So I've been spending eight hours every other day standing around the hanger deck in my cammies "guarding" the lower storage levels. It's pointless and boring. However, it will give me plenty of time to read on post, and spare time between shifts to write.
Every day at sea is pretty much like every other day. There's no place to go and very little to distract from the tedium. It's unbelievable how many of the guys brought Xboxes, Playstations and TV's. I don't know how they plan to transport them if we go anywhere off the boat.
Recently, more people have asked what they can send to help. I have brought with me everything I need. I can always buy consumables like razors in the ship store. Phone cards don't seem to work on the boat, so that doesn't help right now.
If anybody really wants to support me, or any of our other troops around the globe, help end war. The best way to help me out would be to do the one thing I really can't do from here.
