The message below is written by Kady (NOT matt):

Ok, so Matt is unable to recharge his phone cards making it impossible to get more than 40 minutes per phone call. While that might seem like plenty—when you're life is falling down the drain..it's nothing. Matt is not doing well. I'm certainly not doing well either but I'm not the kind of person to give up.

So, I wanted to thank all of you who told me you wanted to buy Matt a phone card. If any of you still wish to do so I can give you his phone card # and pin and all you have to do is call a # I give you and put however many minutes you would like on the card. I'll warn you–it costs 50 cents a minute. Not cheap! We spent $80 in phone calls this past weekend. Other than that we have rarely talked on the phone since he's been gone. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Thanks to all of you who check this to see if Matt has written. He has barely had time to write me.

The latest: he's somewhere near Saudi Arabia and almost at Kuwait. Then the grunts go on land to train while he stays imprisoned on the boat. After that no one knows. It seems obvious to me, though.
