At what point is enough, enough?

I've spent the past week playing Nutcracker ballets in Newport News. Second bassoon, with Marty getting his shot at the solo chair. I really like Marty and my beatiful lady is becoming fast friends with his. The funny thing is: the RSO sounded fantastic with many of its normal solo players absent. This morning I subbed for Marty in the normal WW Quartet at a kiddie concert in Chesterfield…these are all the second chair players in the RSO and there was a fantastic commeraderie. In general we all just got along and made fantastic music together, isn't that why we all spent the last fifteen to twenty years practicing our C Major scales?

Enough is enough, this is why we play, we make music together. Real, accurate, hot, and professional music. Period.
