i had to go back and double-check my irishy post titles for the past couple st patrick's days so i didn't reuse one.

st. pat's in NY is, of course, fantastic. and i am in a much better disposition than yesterday and managing to chill out a little. my students are a little less insane and can handle walking on the street, getting on the subway, etc. baby steps.

yesterday's tourist-o-rama was surprsingly fun, even madame tussaud's. i thought wax figures might creep me out like clowns do, but i was okay. i will post some of the pictures when i get back, like one of me laying on the floor trying to look up john paul gaultier's kilt.

today's NYC experience includes the conference, central park, the NBC studio experience tour, chinatown, and little italy. then i am finally, blissfully free from my teacher responsibilities for the night to partake in the "advisors' appreciation dinner" at shelly's new york, which seems to me to be our publishing company's kissing our butts by plying us with free food and an open bar. not that i am at all above that sort of thing. particularly after being in uber-responsibility mode for the past 52 hours, and even more particularly on st patrick's day.
