my new york schools recruiter lady is still AWOL and her voicemail reports her to already be out of the office until monday. now i am sitting here half irritated that i won't be able to get some job stuff done, but half excited to be given license to run around and have some responsibility-free fun on my spring break. i briefly entertained the notion of going around to check out some schools myself, but where on earth would i even start?

while on the bus this afternoon, someone called my cell twice, about 30 minutes apart, but didn't leave a voice mail. the number didn't register as anyone i know (i have approximately 3,421 numbers too many in my phone), so i ignored it. then later i got kind of compulsive wondering if it was my recruiter calling, or possibly someone from the david letterman show calling to grant me tickets to see denzel live in person on thursday. so i did what i NEVER do and called the number back, not knowing who i was calling.

this is basically the height of phone discomfort for me, but i figured in either scenario whoever answered the phone would do so in a fashion indicating their line of work, so i could figure it out. but nooooo. not only am i a dumbass who didn't pay attention to the number to bein with to realize that it was an 804 (richmond) area code, but when i called it and an unexpected guy's voice answered just saying hello, i completely choked and hung up. that guy, of course, has no problems calling people with unfamiliar numbers back, and called me immediately. and again, of course, i did not pick it up because i was too retarded and embarassed. a big all-around clusterfuck. but they didn't leave a message that time, either, nor when they called AGAIN at 7.56pm. so because i am a huge tool i am left wondering who it was that has called me so urgently four times in a four hour time span, but yet not urgently enough to leave a voice mail.

the things i get myself into sometimes demonstrate an amazing combined level of stupidity and stubborness.
