'maybe we'll crash and burn'

today was jane's mom's funeral. i did okay. i arranged for coverage the whole day at school though so i didn't have to go teach after the service.

in the afternoon i drove to echo lake park with gus to get lost on a long walk, but a) the trail around the lake turned out to be 3/4 of a mile and b) the bridge at the halfway point was being reconstructed. so i drove around some more until we found short pump park, which had… really no trail at all. sigh. the best laid plans of mice and men…

tomorrow, jesse and i are going to see downfall. nothing like a little pick-me-up. i am excited to watch a film in german and want to be able to block out the subtitles. also, since jesse is jewish and half my family is german, i am thinking maybe we can recreate our favorite scenes together after the movie.
