it always saddens me the week(s) after holidays to see abandoned christmas trees discarded on the street. it just seems so dismal.
i just finished reading my friend leonard by james frey. it's the sequel to a million little pieces, and a christmas present from jesse, and i can not recommend the books highly enough. absolutely amazing. the author's voice and style are so god damn unique; it simultaneously made me want to write and not even bother writing 'cause i could never be that good. both of the books made me cry. although it seems to take very little these days. i have to admit that i cried three times at "king kong" on monday. "king kong"! the monkey movie, for goodness sake! i'm such a sucker.
oh! how exciting is it to find out, after just talking about how much i like his writing style, that james frey has a blog (although i still hate that word). instant gratification - hurrah! i also appear to have missed a reading by frey at union square just a few weeks ago. boo. i adore the fact that in his site, frey includes what he terms, "samples of bad press."
