'where do we go now?'

tomorrow is my first day of school with elementary schoolers. last year my first day included over a hundred "urban" youths and being gaped at like a little white girl/fish in an aquarium. tomorrow (and for the next 10 days, before my reading specialist duties begin), i will be serving as a kindergarten assistant - wiping noses and coloring and holding little hands and encouraging naptime. naptime! one of the many many changes i am having to grow accustomed to, like feeling like a giantess as i walk through my workplace. i am liking it, though, and am pretty sure i will be loving it tomorrow after the first wee little ones arrive. though i am unnecessarily emotional anticipating first day kindergarteners leaving mommies.

in other news, on sunday todd and i put a downpayment on a teeny tiny jack russell terrier puppy. i will be a dog-mama for the second time - i've never had a pouppy before, either, so you can imagine my excitement level. i keep telling gus that he is going to be a big brother but he doesn't quite seem to get it yet.

tripp made fun of me for claiming my love for kelly clarkson, but once you watch this video of her wasted at a metal show, swigging whiskey and singing "sweet child o' mine", won't you come and join me?
