'i'm not knocked up'

my absence, as ever, is inexcusable. the biggest part of my hiatus has been the addition of this wee little one to our household:

this 2 pound, 4 ounce bundle of awesome is diesel. i've never had a puppy before and he is keeping both me and todd on our toes. although i fall more into the snuggler role and he is the crazy playmate, go figure. although, every now and then i am privy to behavior like this, which is appropriately awwwww-inducing:

my household is now overrun with males. when zane is here my estrogen may explode on me. in me? not that that really makes sense anyway.

school is great; i do some pullout/resource, reading groups in my classroom, and even do in-class resource for scary subjects like math and science. i'm loving planning and having fun, and thinking outside the box a bit. for example, one of my fourth graders yesterday described disliking orange juice because it was "hairy." he was talking about PULP. :)
