'i am not young enough to know everything'

i am happy that five (five!) years later, my valentine's day manifesto still adequately explains my belief system, despite changes in singleton to ensconsed (ensconsed?!)-in-relationship status.  i like that my sometimes flighty belief system has stood this bit of a test of time.

so far the day hasn't erally jumped out at me in romantic wonderment, but i'm trying not to hold that against it.  we're leaving to do out for dinner in a little bit, and maybe over our meal i will get the moony eyed gazing i've surprised myself in wanting.

as i am typing i look to my left, where gus is laying on the floor keeping an eye on things.  diesel has latched onto his left hindleg, humping the space behind him with studied deliberation.  happy valentine's day, indeed!
