meadowlands is amazing television. the perfect antidote to the majority of the drivel that passes for entertainment these days (and yes, i do watch all that shit), this series on showtime actually reminded me of what good television can be like. the eight-episode series ran its course last sunday and i can't express the amount of fervor with which i will pray for a continuation.
a family moves into a new community through britain's version of the witness protection program, only to find that everyone in the community there through britain's version of the witness protection program. some good guys, some bad guys, some good bad guys and vice versa.
a fantastic premise, executed with perfection. if i had to pitch it, i'd say "twin peaks" meets "the stepford wives" (the book, not the movies) meets "lost" at its peak.
yes, it is that damn good.
We LOVE this show ( now that things are making sense). My God Showtime is blowing HBO out of the water. This show is so exciting. Last expisode, we gasped! Constantly wondering if the crew is on another planet or in Arizona or what! Can't wait for the next one. Love mom's eyes too! Very captivating.
the 8 episodes were apparently the entire "season" and i'm really hoping showtime renews it immediately. it's really some of the most compelling tv i've seen in awhile!
I am hoping this is renewed for this yr. One of the best shows I have seen in a long time.

Please, please, please and more please - tell me that Meadowlands is being picked up for another season!!! I could not get enough the first go-round. I am anxious to see more of this family that Showtime has forced me to love, so please do not take them away from us!!!
