happy birthday, tripp!

someone please back me up that they remember my old idea for a WCWM "walkman party" at william and mary:  have people come down to the little theater with their walkman (do people still have them??), everyone tunes to wcwm, the dj there spins dance music.  so anyone walking in sees all these people rocking out …  but in silence.

so, i was dually excited and kind of bummed out to see a variation on this theme at the 'silent rave' in union square this weekend.  i kind of like my idea of people dancing to the same music in silence better than the whole literal dancing-to-the-beat-of-your-own-drummer thing, but non-the-less, it is interesting to read how this played out.

i feel dumb not knowing that silent raves have been popular in the UK for awhile, but was tickled to hear about the glastonbury festival using them as a way to get around loud bass rules.  funny.

ps - barrack and hillary have allegedly taped messaged for air on WWE raw tonight - wtf.
