Life: Recovery

We were on vacation last week. During the course of ten days or so, I only ran twice and didn’t lift at all. I think the rest was good for me, as the last three workouts this week have left me feeling quite good. I think I needed some extended time off of the run-lift-run-lift-spin-lift routine for my body to recover. After lifting the last three days, a couple of good runs and a high intensity spin, I have that nice, powerful-but-tired feeling—I think a big part is getting back to regular food, regular sleep, etc. after eating vacation food and traveling all over the place.

It’s good to be home, and a word to all of you out there with little guys: traveling for vacation is no vacation. =)  I think the little guys are glad to be home, too. Bekah is quite the chipper little thing of late, saying ‘hi’ to everyone she meets in the store. It’s great to see her learning the language. Speaking of language, do you know what the little bones in your toes are called? No? Reed busted out “phalanges” on me this morning. Wrote it down and everything, with little arrows pointing to a picture of his toes. I remain stupefied.
