Yesterday, Amy was taking our four-year-old into church through the sanctuary, where the orchestra instruments happened to be set up. As we're trying to encourage his musical interests, Amy pointed out the kettle drums, saying "Wow, Reed. Look at those really big drums!"
To which our son replied with a patient sigh: "Mom, those are timpanis."
