Life: A + Y

On Thursday night we're all sitting around the table, finishing up dinner and chatting. Reed's sitting in Amy's lap and pipes up with 

"A plus Y equals Z!"

Amy and I lock quizzical stares across the length of the table. He's recently started having fun with multiplication and she and I'd joked that we'd start in on Algebra soon. So, Amy asked Reed what he meant. Long story short, he was assigning numerical values alphabetically, thus 1 + 25 = 26. Obviously! 

We had fun asking him to subtract A from B, and then C from F. He got a kick out of it. 

I know: what a weird little family. I love it.
