so cal got hot.
i moved out of my apartment. annalily dropped me off at the claremont train station and i fought back tears. i would've lost it but brian keeley, a fun and fabulous professor, was standing by the ticket machine and we talked for a while. after, i called aja and marc to say goodbye because they'd been out when i left, and they were only a block or two away in the village so they came and waited with me until the train came. then, once on the train, i was sure there would be tears but friends kept calling, and then tripp was there waiting with hugs at the other end.
i've been having a nice relaxing time at my grandparents' house. i sleep in until about 9 every morning, read the newspaper, and then read a book or tag along for errands until lunch time with granny. then more errands or fun things or reading and dinner, tv or reading, and then sleep. i'm enjoying making my way through some good books. i'm reading Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee: An Indian History of the American West currently, and just finished stones from the river, both from granny's lending library.
i'm not feeling as unproductive as i'd expected to feel. maybe because i'm geting to do things like help around the house, help around my grandpa's office, write my thank you notes, those sorts of things.
i'm heading back home to portland on the 6th. hopefully the people i like will be in town. aubrey? i'm looking at you, kid.
i'm getting excited about moving on, even though i don't know where it will be to yet. i think it will be quite an adventure.
