i've been spending every day since i've been back in portland helping around the house. the major project has been getting decades worth of old clothes and things out of the house. between my grammy and mom and sister and self, clothes have a tendency to be cycled between people until they're totally worn out or fit no one, at which point they remain in case someone might want them instead of getting tossed. when my gram moved to portland she brought a lot of her things which ended up at her house, things she won't ever use again and neither will we. so, cleaning, paring down….

my entire family has the mentality that if something can be re-used it should be, and this leads to saving things. its weird getting rid of so much, thinking of so many families that have lost everything….

we've made a ton of progress, but the things we haven't gotten to the salvation army/ goodwill/ etc are cluttering up the rest of the house.

it is nice to be doing something productive with my time. all the little projects will end up improving quality of life here. its weird though, there has been some transition for me. i'm still totally comfortable being here and it still feels like home, but i'm no longer 100% content. i miss that millican kid. man i hate being dependant.
