in other news, i'm getting crazily excited about going to japan, but also nervous. i don't fancy the notion of being illiterate.

its a birthday week. my daddy's birthday is today, and my grammy's is tuesday. we're having a birthday party for them on saturday and my uncle j is coming in from out of town to surprise the gram. oh what fun! there will be lots of cooking (done mostly by me, but i've requested the support of my dad to help assemble lasagna, because i've never made it before and his lasagna is the only kind i'll eat because i've never had one yummier. i am a little nervous about cooking for 20 people). today i make a birthday cake and if it turns out well will duplicate it for the party. sour cream cake with chocolate butter frosting. i'm excited. my life seems to revolve around food lately. food, and planning this trip. i think nearly everything is in order finally. i have to convert some money, but other than that its just little things where if they don't get done i'll still get by. so exciting.
