don't sit under the apple tree with anyone else but me

i cooked for about 8 hours today. i was prepping food from 10 (starting with cake and icing) until when people began arriving at 6:15. the only thing i ate before dinner was a piece of toast while stirring the soup. everyone liked the food (or claimed to, and i believe them because i liked it all). i am exhausted. the party was a success– my grammy was thrilled to have so many people come to celebrate her and so happy to have my uncle appear at her door for a surprise visit. bedtime now, lots of family visiting to look forward to.
