too much follow up

Tripp asked me last night if i was ever planning on posting again. it made me feel sheepish.
our biggest fundraising event of the year was last weekend. i've been working very hard and just regained my brain today- i think sometime during my 14.5 hour workday on Sunday it took off running and has spent the last few days frolicking in the bushes. unfortunately, there is a ton of follow up work and i'm going to have to be efficient the next day or two.
at some point in the last few weeks i tried my hand at vegetarian soy free 'chinese' food. i made some long beans and some eggplant and i liked both- i had intended to write down the recipes before i forgot, so hopefully i still remember.
the long beans, i crushed gobs of garlic in olive oil and added some garlic chili sauce. (at that point it sat for a while and infused because i had to run to the train station to get tripp). i cooked the long beans very well in the mixture and added a lot of salt.
the eggplant started off with garlic, olive oil, and garlic chili sauce as well. it also had maple syrup, mustard, a dash of vinegar, and salt. i chopped a chinese eggplant and coated all sides with the sauce and then baked it until it was squishy, turning it once and mixing it up to make sure it stayed coated.
i'm having lunch with work people more often now. (it isn't like i'm sitting in a corner eating by myself when i don't. well, it sort of is, but its at my desk. its just easier to answer calls when they come in and not interrupt my work when i eat at my desk. plus, there are blogs to read). i thought kurt and mike being out of town would force me to try being social with other people (i hate people). and it has. but i'm looking forward to their returning.
my desk is a mess.
