'blow the whistle'

about 18 hours to go. today has been a disaster.

i pick up a little since my mom is on her way. so i get out the door late. i have to run a couple of on campus errands before work, making even more late. then, on my way to school, i get a call from the dr. it was freaky because i dialed their number, hit talk and found it to be ringing with an incoming call. from them.

'remember when we said there wouldnt be any prep for this surgery? that you wouldnt eat after 6pm and that was it? right. we lied. go get your go lytly and start drinking it at 3pm.'

so now i have to leave work early to drink this crap. on the good side, its only a liter, not 4. but still annoying.

lesson: the day before inpatient surgery, plan nothing and sit at home to prepare.

on the good side, i woke up this morning to tons of posts on the site. so that was fun. now everyone keep it up.

ill be so glad when this is all over. when it isnt the most pressing thing in my life. blah. least i can go home early and relax. since i get to be there at 6am. things that will keep me company at the hospital: gba, powerbook, asimov's 'foundation', about 30 dvds full of comics and an ipod. hopefully ill be in good enough shape to enjoy it all. im sure carter will once again provide some updates (though linda has already offered to transcribe posts). supposed to only be 4-7 days, so it shouldnt be a big deal.

my mom is here now, with guy coming out on thurs. carter will miss the fun, but i think its ok. then roxy shows up, then i go to seattle, then chrispy comes out. its a parade of fun.

this sucks. im so fucking hungry. i had 2 bowls of cereal this morning and then found out i couldnt eat after noon. so thats all i had today. 12 hours without food; it isnt surprising im hungry.

something i havent figured out: how to listen to my mp3s through itunes when im not on the same subnet. anyone? and i wish you could make it register a song as played when you listened to it over the network. ah well. cant have everything i suppose.
