'doxy'

im a genius. i slept on my side last night, so i woke up feeling like crap. so i popped a norco and now im feeling a lot better.

i just want this stupid incision to heal. heres what i had done: there was a piece of my small intestine poking out by my bellybutton (i took pictures before i went in, ill post them sometime soon). it had a hole poked in it and thats where all my food drained. this time, they cut off the piece with the hole, sewed the two ends together, tucked it inside and sealed me up.

not too bad, compared to last time i suppose. but that nice incision inside means it hurts when i move or when i eat.

my parents have only just realized what i told them days ago - i got out much faster this time, so im less healed upon returning home this time. hence, im going to be less well than i was last time when i returned home.

laying in bed going to sleep last night, i realized how much of the last year or so of my life seems like a dream.

ive been spending a lot of time recently imagining my child (who may never exist) reading the site. i started composing a letter in my head. then i fell asleep.

hm. the pain meds are working like a champ. (comparing the bottle from last time to this one, i see that: last time, the norco was 7.5/350, 1 or 2 pills every six hours. this time its 10/350, 1 pill every 4 hours. i believe this means its stronger this time [the pills also look different, but that could be a generic/pharmacy type thing.]) so i think maybe ill get up sometime soon.

ive found applescripts to do most of the network things i want to do with itunes. sadly they all require a mac on both sides. not a pc server and mac client. bastards.

oh, since i always ask for help on here: anyone know of a good grammar for dummies book? i have strunk and white, but its more word usage and the like. i want something about verb tenses, sentence structure, that type of thing. i havent ever found anything like this. anyone know of anything?

and yes, the nudetripp and poll will change real soon. i meant to change the poll before i went into the hospital but didnt. (and thank you those of you who have begun posting more often. i had something to read yesterday when i got out. it was pleasing.)

sometimes im smart. take today for instance. i got it in my head to add a link for whatever song is playing.

after spending a bunch of time looking for ways to direct the link to the correct page on amazon and figuring out what is involved with that. (taking the artist/title info, querying amazon, getting an xml file back, parsing that then spitting out the result.) then i realized a fair better (though perhaps less reliable) way to do it - you make the link to google, using the 'i feel lucky' search and you make amazon the first search term, followed by the artist, the album and then the song. (sadly, google limits the search terms to 10 and this trick doesnt always work, esp on rare/oop stuff, but still. pretty easy workaround requiring no real backend processing.)
