i have a nice long list of enhancements to the site. i keep this list in a little folder in a little program that sits, hidden, on the left side of my desktop. i bet i pull it up and look at it every couple of days.
the list itself isnt all that long. right now, it stands at a dozen to-do items. some of them are forthcoming features, some of them are bug fixes, some of them are feature requests by the people who post here. since ive left the gaming world behind, ive had more time to work on this list. in the past week, ive finished code for tagging posts and im down to bug fixes on implementing the delicious link code for myself. four of the 12 items on the list are basic css fixes ive allowed to remain uncorrected.
there are 2 reasons im posting all of this: 1. the code on the site is continuing to change. im spending time refining it. if you have a request, make it. ive got time and energy to listen. 2. im announcing that unless i get some outcry in the next week or so, im pulling the 'browse with' section. it might return as simple palette swaps in the future. i spent a great deal of time on that code, retrofitting stylesheets and seeming cool. but i dont have the energy to keep up 4 different styles. and i would be surprised if people had anything other than the default green set. (even though many people balked when it launched.) i would like to concentrate firmly on 1 style and really optimize the site around it for now. does anyone have an objection?
finally (for now), take another look at the 'top 10′ page for the site. in the last couple of weeks, eric and mike both have had posts climb up the 'most viewed' list, while one of chrispys holds on at the bottom. yes, ray, we can see that titles do matter if you want to appear in a search often, but its cool to see the list begin to balance out, where its not all tripp posts because they are on the front page.

sometime during this week, i predict that eric's post will become #1 on mog. why? because, somehow, it has become the #4 post on google for 'giant ass'. and, we all know, the world does nothing but look for websites with giant asses. well done, eric, well done.
