im facing the window at work, staring into a rainy atrium.

on the 21st, i turn 30. last week, i decided i wanted to go to nyc for my birthday. but roxy and kurt balked a bit and it turns out petunia is going to be out of town.

now its the 14th and any hope of making that plan work is fading quickly. thats a real bummer. im left with not knowing exactly what i want for my birthday — do i go to la? still shoot for nyc? do i stay in mountain view and just go to a nice restuarant and enjoy being alive for almost a third of a century? or do i go to a stripclub and get lapdances and shots all night?

nick, the other ui guy here, just told me i dont look 30. hes right. and most days i dont feel it.

but thats not stopping the date from looming large in front of me.

so ive been rolling out this new code. what happens when you are checking some times but forget to make sure all your servers and timestamps are reporting in the same time zone? you get the code executing a lot more often than you mean it to. doh.
