spotbit for all your free digital magazines in pdf format needs. wow, that was a terribly bad sentence.

ive been trying for the past week to hear 'mr kirk's nightmare' by 4hero. its an old rave track, the one that starts off with a convo between a police officer and a father:

'mr. kirk, do you have a son named robert, robert kirk, age 17?' 'yes.' 'im sorry mr kirk. youd better come down to the station house. your son is dead.' 'dead? how?' 'he died of an overdose. come down to the stationhouse. come down to the station house. come down to the station house, your son is dead.'

its a terribly morbid song, but perhaps thats why i like it. i havent really heard it for years — the only version i have is the one on the scott henry sm;)e mix. its a lame '94 energize mix' which replaces the above sample with one that says 'energize'. obviously, this ruins the entire point of the song.

and for the last week, ive been jonesing to hear the original version, something i havent heard since…living with omar junior year of college. so…ten years?

so i finally tracked it down and at 7.30 this morning, i got to listen to it.

now im rocking out to some other old skool, 'ardcore rave tracks. least my wed is starting out well. let's see where it lands.

i do not want to steal thunder, but a quick phone call from ray lets me know that he is a proud father for the second time over. im sure when and if he can sneak away to post the details he will. and im sure he wouldnt mind a quick note of congrats…
