well, that might be an overstatement.
the prop (83) that i was bitching about a couple of weeks ago passed. a co-worker this morning has pointed out that it further complicates things — it means, because of distance rules, no sex offender can live in san francisco.
prop 87 lost too, which was a tax on oil producers — with the tax money going to research for alternative energy sources. good job, big oil. you saved your ass once again. by hawking that the prop promised 'no measurable returns'. well, duh. that's why it is research. ('we can't try! we might fail!') bastards.
sure, we can all be glad for something so basic. except that forcing people out of places doesnt actually solve the problem. it merely shifts it to make it some else's problem.
the gay marriage ban in va lost, as mike and andrea have said.
but it looks like both the house and the senate are in democratic control. and now rumsfeld is stepping down, though matthew beat me to the punch.
a mixed bag at the end of it, but certainly better than it could have been.
now we just have to wait a few weeks for allen to accept what the rest of us already know. mainly that he is a douchebag.

The Gay Marriage Ammendment did not lose in VA, it passed.
that's what i meant. somehow, in my mind, i was using double negatives. or something.
i don't know.
i do know that i won't be moving back to va as a resident unless this gets settled. well, i might not be a resident again. but i certainly won't while this is on the books.
call me brad pitt.
