monday nights mean drinks with friends at the local dive bar. last night, more people than usual came out, doubly amazing as the bar was almost completely deserted. monday nights is a good time to go because the bar runs $1 dollar pbr all night. (along with 2.75 well drinks.)
i fear it got the better of me last night.
with carter, rachael, beth, brian, hima, debrah, scott, mike, kurt and brian all there, i somehow managed to put away a kamikaze, a double whiskey sour and 3 pbrs. i believe i also bought hima a pbr. and the bill was 17.50.
and i was knackered.
we left at some point, i believe around 10.30 and went to get chinese down on castro, the only place in mountain view open so late for food. im quite certain i ran my mouth through the meal. carter reminded me this morning that the meal ended with hot sauce tasting. scott, it seems, has a very high tolerance for hot food. i had sense enough not to try too much. there was a ‘not bet’ that i would throw up. (rachael demanded 5 bucks if i puked. carter and perhaps hima wanted in on the deal. as it turns out, while i would have been asked to pay 15 dollars if i had gotten sick, i got nothing for holding my liquor.)
and this morning, i hurt.
i hurt like i rocked out harder than i ever have. it’s that sore, gross hangover feeling. i have stumbled around all morning, my coordination wonky.
this is clearly what happens when one gets old. this was no more than a typical friday night in college, if that. granted, i woke up this morning at 6.20, so that didn’t help anything. still.
it has been a long time since i have been drunk. and the way i feel this morning, it might be an even longer time until i do it again.
lamb of god just came onto my ipod. this hurts. it’s 8.15am. i’m ready to go to bed.

I, too, am tired. Although I was not hung over. You bought me a spaten.

You left the part where you said, “The fish aren’t moving because they’re asleep.”

This is the part where I say: HaHA! (a la Simpsons-style.) Lots of love. I do hope you feel better soon. =)
