a collection of reflections by people i have known

by tripp

so, yeah, sounds like eric fucked up.

and that sucks. but then, he called me after this happened and relayed that same conversation into my voicemail.

and i haven’t called him back yet. so i’m a bad friend too.

the flip side of the coin is this little story:

i have my contacts on flickr. (and if you are on flickr — tell me, i’ll add you.) and i have a feed for it, so i watch all my friends pictures come down to me magically.

and i see a certain la friend of mine has posted a bunch of empty house pictures on flickr.

i look, he is online. i im him:

me: did you move?
him: no.
me: i thought that might be the pics in your stream
him: heh… no. I mean… I did buy that house. but haven’t moved in yet
me: woah wait what? details
him: yeah, I bought a bouse. house
me: where?
him: la. los feliz
me: well i knew the first part. wow. cool.

so:
1. congrats to him. its tres cool.
2. it isn’t the first time that flickr has kept me up to date like this. and that, my friends, is cool.

watching the pictures people i know post is a weird form of spying and intuiting. and it works. it is a great example of staying in touch without words. something to be said for passively keeping in touch.
