ok, so most everyone i know knows the orb’s ‘little fluffy clouds’ track. it’s more than a classic even. a staple. so here is a really awesome pisstake on it that actually made me laugh when i first heard it.

and credit where credit is due — i originally nabbed it from audio.out, but the file has since been pulled from there. i heartily recommend it for fun and obscure dance tracks, though he does seem to pull all files down at the start of every month and begin fresh. so grab them while you can.

ok, i wasnt going to post this, but the tracklisting is too good to not make sure everyone gets wind of this.

diplo was on the essential mix on saturday night and the tracklisting looks amazingly dope. when you mix m.i.a, nirvana, tribe called quest, dj shadow, 2 bad mice, orbital, the chems, queen, justice, bart simpson, kanye, simbian mobile disco, yeah yeah yeahs and beenie man, how can you go wrong?

so sometimes i wear ties to work.

it isn’t a dirty secret, but it is weird, for more than one reason:
1. the 15 year old me probably wouldn’t care too much, but i feel like the 19 year old me would be stand-offish. that’s ok. the 19 year old me didn’t get to sleep with rachael every night.

the 18 year old me had to wear a tie once or twice a month because i was in soda (student organization for developing attitudes) when i was a senior. you went to a 5th grade class and talked to them about being decent people and such. of course, you were forced to wear a tie. and i was told by the head of the group at my school that i was not allowed to die my hair blue. which

2. no one here wears ties. by here, i mean california. in fact, nick has told me that the mere fact i wore a tie to interview at my previous job (he was one of the ones interviewing) was almost a strike against me.

3. i wore ties to that job on occasion. until, finally, my manager sat me down and told me that wearing a tie to work was sending the wrong message to the other employees. and that i should no longer wear ties to work. i was flabbergasted.

i was literally told to look less presentable to work. and this isn’t as if i was wearing suits or anything. nice pants and a tie.

not only was i told not to wear it anymore, i was accused of interviewing, which i wasn’t. and i lived 3 blocks from the office, so if i was, i could have gone home and changed anyway. and i mentioned this. it didn’t matter.

but you can bet your ass i started looking for a new job after that.

and the best part? the entire office knew by my last day what had happened. and they all wore ties in that day. in fact, one person even brought a bunch of extra ties for those who didnt have one. it was an awesome show of support in an absurd way. oh man, was that cool.

but yes, i have discovered i really enjoy wearing something a little nicer once a week or so. even if i get made fun of by my co-workers. (though some have threatened to wear more ties as well now.)
