so how many of you got the new radiohead?

im listening to it at work right now. thus far, i am on track 3, ‘nude’.

and i must say, i’m underwhelmed thus far. it isn’t bad, it just isn’t bowling me over. i’m glad i didn’t pay more than i did. and i’m glad i didnt drop 80 bucks on the package. though i never really considered that as an option.

did you buy it? what’s your review?

listened to it 3-4 times at this point, and have to say I’m really enjoying it. More mellow & mopey, even for radiohead. Minimal.

The real question is…how much did you pay for it?

I’m not a Radiohead fan, but have been following this release with great interest.

the first listen didn’t blow me away, either. the second improved my opinion considerably. i’m in the middle of the third listen now, and i’ve gotta say i like it.
still–for me so far, there’s no standout song that makes me go still and quiet, no song that breaks my heart or sends me to the cliffs. i’ve kind of gotten used to that from radiohead, and i miss it.

i paid 2 bucks, which considering my enjoyment of it so far, seems reasonable.

hank, i agree with you: its not bad, but nothing blew me away. ‘nude’ was my favorite song and it didn’t send me reeling at all.

john seemed surprised at my response. he said: ‘closest thing to ok computer’. i say: ‘i’m a kid a kind of fan.’ (this will surprise exactly no one.)

interesting that ‘nude’ was your favorite; from what i understand, that’s the one they wrote sometime around 1997–somewhere in the transition from OK Computer to Kid A.
