Happy Wednesday. I am pretending that you are viewing this tomorrow morning as you have come into the office, coffee in hand. Don't ruin my daydream.
- A map of the remaining record stores in NYC. (From this story in the NYT on their disappearance.) Interestingly (or not), Satellite Records isn't listed — when Chris and I were in there last year, it was a complete ghost town. I'll never forget the period of my life where buying records was my girlfriend, hopping from store to store in the Village with Andru and Chrispy. Sadly, the world has moved on.
- I have these ET and Star Wars sheets. That is all.
- Slave Leias at the NYC ComicCon this past weekend. This is like some kind of optical illusion — my brain is delivering conflicting information about how to feel about this.
- You know, just when you start to believe that people are smarter than you thought, that people are decent in their hearts, something like this comes along. A church's billboard, trying to link Obama and Osama.
Pastor Roger Byrd of Jonesville Church of God put the sign up which reads "Obama Osama humm are they brothers?"
Pastor Byrd says the sign is not meant to be racial or political but rather to make people think. "His name is so close to Osama I have a feeling he might be Islamic therefore he doesn't recognize Christ," Pastor Byrd said.
- As if I can't find enough things to be anxious about, now there are food shortages? And the hoarding has already begun? Let's add it to the list.
- I like this dresser from All Modern Furniture. And the whole site seems pretty neat, furniture-wise. Also, the Curiosity Shoppe looks excellent as well.
- Oh and you want to feel old? Rex points out that Madonna, Prince and Michael Jackson all turn 50 this year. Holy fucking shit.
- Atheists explain why you don't die when the sun goes down. Also, why you don't get electrocuted when you shower.
- Update: one more: Lynchings in Congo as penis theft hits capital. This would be the real headline. Of real news.
