I am trying to recall the last time I bought a physical CD in a store — new or used.
I actually think it has been over 2.5 years — I don't even think I have been in a music store since I moved to the Bay area.
What about you? When's the last time you bought a physical CD of music?

i think mine was 'graduation,' last september. i definitely see what you are saying where digital downloads is almost always the way to go, but there are certain artists -like kanye, for me- that i find a particular satisfaction or need to own the physical, from-the-store product. i feel that way about the singers or bands where i know i'll be buying the music even without hearing a track or even a note…
saturday. and monday before that. i still go to music stores all the time.
i've also got to argue the goodness of running your hands through bins of music and finding weird shit, rare finds, bizarre stuff. that doesn't really happen on iTunes. or at least not in such a tactile fashion. i can't help but feel like everything i find and buy online is something i have specifically sought out - or something TheMan wants me to think i found on my own.
The last time was about a year ago. It was Sara Bareilles' "Little Voice." We went to college together and that was my way of supporting her. Her songs are pop-ish but they're so catchy that I can't stop singing them.
I just bought The Breeders, Pod, on c.d. so I guess you could say I'm late on several levels.
update: we bought the new coldplay album on tuesday. it was $10 new - bonus!
my update:
i looked through my cds. i think the most recent things i have bought were some runaway uk cds, used through amazon about a year ago.
the last new cd i bought was ordering the bassbin twins vs marine parade double discs when it came out, which was 2 years ago.
eep.
