I’ve been attempting daily tasks/goals to get things done. Getting even 1 or 2 things done in a day feels pretty satisfying. Sadly, it hasn’t worked out quite like that. Yesterday was bill day. How many did I pay? 0. Monday was “clean out my Firefox tabs” day. How many of the 40 I have open got closed? 0.
This post to try and get some of these gone. Plus, who doesn’t love long lists of silly things?
- I had no idea Jack Handey (I’m assuming of SNL fame) was still around. And writing things.
- FUCKIN NARWHAL LOOK AT THAT MOTHERFUCKER (via cal — and not unlike the singing shark)
- sex book filing fail and vibrator boyfriend
- thomas kinkade’s 16 guidelines for making stuff suck. kurt, this one is for you for sure.
- would you have guessed that prescription drugs kill 300% more americans than illegal drugs? i wouldn’t have, though now that i know it makes perfect sense.
- a short (and heartbreaking but odd) documentary about genesis p orridge and his/her deceased wife, lady jaye. the two of them were creating living art by undergoing cosmetic surgeries to look exactly alike as a more complete bonding of their two beings. she died last year and this video piece is about genesis now. it’s surreal but romantic and makes me so sad for him.
- john and i were watching the macy’s parade when the rickroll happened. he called it; i couldn’t believe it was truly a rickroll. it was. the entire nation got rickrolled at the macy’s parade.
- ian mackaye on belushi and playing snl in 81 with fear. (will, i can’t imagine you wouldn’t enjoy this)
- ge might be on the verge of collapse. or at least some serious trouble. oops.
- momus on 1:1 ratio of experience: “1:1 ratio of experience to writing means that you’ve become an efficient journalistic machine: nothing you do ever goes to waste. Every single thing you experience gets written about somewhere. It doesn’t have to be experience in the real world; it almost seems like I write, now, about every website I visit too.” this is exactly what has gotten me back up off my ass. i realized that i used to do a lot more of this digesting outloud and i’ve slipped as my career has continued to grow. (via tomorrow museum)
- and finally, and perhaps most importantly, tina turner at 69, in her mad max outfit for a concert. and you know what? she looks damn good for 69.
well, i got rid of a few windows. i missed linking to banksy’s storefront, a video explaining higher dimensions, that nyt netflix story, the newsweek story i havent finished on the presidential race (yes, im that far behind), the 24 hour beethoven that kottke linked to along with his star wars post, a finance post and the one man thriller video one, kinky sci-fi books,
