open tabs tuesday

You know, I always think I should leave some tabs open, thinking I’ll find a way to work them into a post about my life. You know, cause Zorro Michael Jackson is exactly the kind of metaphor I need for what’s going on with me.

It never works.

But let’s see how we can do today.

  1. I got the A Cross the Universe album/DVD by Justice. I haven’t watched the movie yet, but the album is what I hoped for. It isn’t the show I saw with John, but it’s really close and still excellent. For someone who has worn out the ‘cross’ album over the last year, this is a nice change. (Seems to be on iTunes as well, so that might be a better bet.)
  2. May I advise you not to get this tattoo? Oh, too late. I love the subject matter, but you’ve got to be more than stupid. Seriously, what made you think that Ms. Pac Man on your face was a good idea?
  3. At several points in my life, I was going to write a book of office lingo. Things I didn’t want to hear people say in my presence. Turns out this guy has already done the heavy lifting, by eating the elephant one bite at a time. Actually, to be fair, a few of these are not office related. My mother uses ‘come to Jesus meeting’ all the time. (And literally, 30 seconds before writing this paragraph a co-worker im-ed that we needed to have a ctj meeting. Sigh.)
  4. Everyone and their mother is having a sale now — Victoria’s Secret, B&N, the Gap…keep ‘em coming. Now if I only had money to buy things.
  5. SVA now has a Masters in Interaction Design. Oops. Late to the party guys, but if you had this back in 98, I certainly would have gone to NYC to get my Masters.
  6. And so you can get more depressed: here is a blog covering layoffs.
  7. And finally, what I should have gotten John for Christmas, but didn’t. A digitally signed David Hasselhoff poster.
  8. And remember George W Bush? Yeah, now he is saying 1. that he grew the economy the entire time he was in office and 2. said “So what” when told that al Qada wasn’t in Iraq before we invaded. When I heard more on the shoe throwing thing on NPR last night, I was clapping and cheering. Sigh. 1 more month.
  9. Oh and I took this film test that Kottke had up. I scored a 61.something, but forgot a movie or two. It’s a solid list but slanted a little too much towards recent movies. How do you do?

Posting bad awesome links exhausts me.
